In a post-apocalyptic world, a group of survivors builds a fortress in the heartland of America. No one knows for sure how the lights went out but they do learn that whatever caused the EMP, affected the entire world. Eager to return to the life they had before, the small town works hard to survive and rebuild everything that they lost. The days of fighting and starvation nearly evade their minds until the sky begins raining volcanic ash. Human migration begins again, sending people in search of new lands that are safe from the hordes of marauders and the ash that has filled the landscape.
Little does Justin and his friends know, there is something deadlier than the Yellowstone eruption coming over the horizon. A man hellbent on seeking revenge for his daughter's death is on a killing spree and delivering justice to anyone who stands in his way of killing the murderers. It's only a matter of time before he finds Justin's small town of survivors and things get ugly very fast.

Note: This is the 2nd book of the "Running" series by R. R. Hinson and follows "Running: Scared and Powerless." However, the characters are new and the first book is not referenced until the very last chapter.
