Damean Mathews
It only made sense that, at some point, I began to write. I started out just playing around with rewriting my favorite stories or creating my own sequels where I thought one should exist. In my junior year of high school I got an idea that absolutely demanded to be written. I had no idea how something in my own head could be so powerful. It was in that exact moment that I knew I had to write.
Soon one novel became half a dozen, and short stories worked their way out of my mind as well, earning me my first publication in a local literary journal. That inspired me to write more than ever, and I sought more publications while completing three novels.
Since I started, I've attended symposiums, learned a ton about my craft, become a proud vampirologist, and even taught some writing workshops about relating worldwide legends to local lore in the Appalachian Region.
Now I teach English and write books while enjoying life with my incredible wife and our fur children.
