Jana J.J. McGraw
I work in 911 public safety communications at present, but I’ve worked a combination of emergency work and law enforcement for almost thirty years. My late father, Larry McGraw, worked in public safety, and I followed in his footsteps. I started out as a firefighter and paramedic, then moved on to a detention officer, and finally to 911 communications.
I have taken my life’s work, the experiences, and have been able to create realistic situations and dialog: spinning the story along and watching it form in front of me; keeping things on the edge and keeping people guessing.
In Initial Kill, the situations are believable, and the dialog emulates the real language of law enforcement and rescue personnel, including Detective Jake North and his wife Lexi who works as a sergeant leading a telecommunications center. As I have encountered various levels of education and dedication in the law enforcement personnel, my novel reflects the bad along with the good. In Initial Kill, you find the dedicated law officers, but you’ll also find so-called “public servants” who are corrupt.
My lifetime of experience has guided me to splash images and characters across the pages while allowing me to use writing as a means of stress relief. As a result, Initial Kill was born. My love of writing grows stronger every day. Pieces of You and Legend’s Game continue to follow Detectives Jake and Dean through their experiences, challenges, and case-solving travels.
My fourth book, "A Killer Blends In" has just become available. This one will follow a new set of characters but will still be in the crime-fiction genre.
My fifth book is in the works at this time. It will have returning characters from, "A Killer Blends In" and will be full of mystery and thrills.
The Fifth was just released on 3/8/20 "The Chos5n" and is available in paperback and ebook.
