Jane Wilson-Howarth
Jane Wilson-Howarth is somewhat dyslexic so her desire to write came upon her slowly but began in earnest with letters home on her first big overland trip, driving from England to Nepal. Travel is a big theme in her writing and so is the natural world. She has a zoology degree, a Masters in parasite biology as well as a medical qualification. Zoologists learn a lot from faeces, and so do physicians, and straight-talking about toilets has also become a theme in her writing and her life as a practising doctor. Even BC (before children) she understood the comic value of writing about poo too.
Jane writes a regular travel health slot for Wanderlust magazine and occasional pieces for other magazines and national newspapers. She has eight books published so far and is working on further wildlife-packed adventures for middle grade readers as well as a medical memoir. She lives between Cambridgeshire and Kathmandu, is on Instagram (and occasionally on twitter) as @ longdropdoc and her author website is www.wilson-howarth.com
