Jim Cole

I'm a retired civil/structural engineer in my mid-80s. While traveling around the world on various engineering projects, I always dreamed of becoming a writer. After 42 years as a consulting engineer I retired and took a chance to fulfill my dreams. I attended Rice University's Glasscock School of Continuing Studies in Houston, taking classes in creative writing. Later, I joined the Houston Writer's Guild and was fortunate to be placed under contract for several years to the Houston Chronicle for stories for their Sunday supplement magazine, Texas.

Today, my wife Marian and I live quietly in our hometown, Victoria, Texas, where I continue my interest in writing.

My first novel, Never Cry Again, was published when I was 80. My second, Run With the Wind, was published 4 years later.

The two novels are Books 1 and 2 of a three-part series. Today, at age 85, I'm working on the third and final book of the series, Brothers Three, which focuses on the racial and political turmoil of Dallas, Texas in the years immediately prior to the assignation of President John F. Kennedy.
