PJ McDermott

I was born in Scotland and spent my teenage years in the town of Paisley, near Glasgow. I often plunked school (good Scottish word there!) and headed to the local library to read any book I could get my hands on, especially adventure and science fiction.

My favorite authors were Asimov, Herbert, Niven, Moorcock, and Le Guin, but the book I most enjoyed was Lord of the Rings by Tolkien. Seriously, I read it at least six times!

My first novel was the semi-biographical Small Fish Big Fish, now reissued as "Caught in the Long Grass." This is my story of what it felt like to grow up in a rough suburb in Scotland during the sixties.

I've also published the 4-book science fiction adventure series Prosperine which includes The Alien Corps, Rise of the Erlachi, The Scarf, and Fractured Prophecy. All are available as e-books or in print. The Alien Corps and Rise of the Erlachi are also available as audiobooks, with the others to follow soon.

I emigrated to Australia with my wife, Sue, when I was twenty-seven, ands I have two daughters and three grandchildren, Mia, Ryder Patrick, and Ethan.
